the Coaching essentials Workshop
The Workshop: The Coaching Essentials Workshop is a high-impact, training program designed to provide participants with a solid foundation of key coaching principles and the skills necessary to immediately coach others for high performance and career acceleration. It is a highly engaging and experiential learning event in which participants engage in three, live coaching sessions and receive direct feedback on their personal effectiveness.
This workshop is ideal for individual contributors, front line supervisors and early-stage leaders who are seeking to substantially increase their ability to have a positive influence on others.
The Model: The workshop is based on a simple yet powerful 5-step coaching model that can be readily integrated into the day-to-day work of the participants. The model is designed to help the participants learn how to have potent coaching conversations rather than follow a strict, linear process.
The Coaching Essentials Model
- AFFIRM the person: create a positive framework for coaching and change
- CONFRONT the facts: performance, potential and aspirations
- EXPLORE the possibilities: generate fresh pathways forward
- ENCOURAGE the change: support challenging, ambitious change
- ADVANCE the action: insist upon personal accountability for specific action

The Coaching Skills: Throughout the course of the exercises and coaching practicums, participants will have numerous opportunities to improve their interpersonal effectiveness. Specifically they will learn to:
- Listen like a Coach
listening for values, emotions, inconsistencies and aspirations
- Think like a Coach
thinking about possibilities, unused talents and potential
- Speak like a Coach
speaking about commitment, action and personal responsibility
