Historically Nike has been known as a footwear company. All that changed with when Mindy Grossman took the helm as Vice President of the Apparel Division in 2000. After replacing over 80% of management, consolidating global sourcing and centralizing design, she turned her focus on building leadership capacity to substantially grow the apparel side of the business.
Action
Bluepoint was first invited to deliver a keynote speech at the 2003 Global Apparel Conference to the leadership within the division. We were then welcomed into strategy discussions for a broad-ranging leadership development initiative which included:
- The Leadership Challenge workshop for senior management
- A Ron Crossland Unplugged Q&A session for over 40 directors and executives
Result
Bluepoint programs created momentum for a transformative leadership development program. The Apparel Division is now a major piece of their business and has been successfully incorporated into the corporate culture.
