Mitch Shepard Leadership Coach

Mitch Shepard has worked in the wilderness of the outdoors and the wilderness of organizations - helping people reach the edge of their capacity and bursting beyond it to new levels of influence, leadership and transformation. Mitch's style combines a systems perspective with a focus on individual accountability and action. Mitch uses an inter-active, experiential approach combined with cutting edge organizational and leadership methods and tools. She uses this creative approach to help leaders and teams recognize the dynamics that both promote and hinder their success.

A coach, consultant, facilitator and trainer, Mitch has worked in a wide range of settings, inspiring clients to reach beyond their own vision. She helps clients understand the patterns at play within their teams and to leverage the diversity of communication styles, personality types, learning preferences, conflict, and leadership which exist there. She collaborates with leaders to create vision, set goals, increase effectiveness, and achieve business results.

She has worked with leaders across many different industries including high-tech, airline, insurance, educational institutions, retail, banks, and resort hotels. Some of her recent clients include Safeco Insurance, Microsoft, and Starbucks. Mitch got her start in Leadership development in 1993, working for Motivation Management Services and True North Leadership in Santa Barbara California. She then went on to spend nearly a decade leading teams on wilderness expeditions and facilitating ropes course programs for leadership teams. Her years working for Outward Bound and other adventure based companies has given her the ability to think quickly on her feet, expect the unexpected, and remain flexible in the face of ever changing conditions. Mitch enjoys sharing these lessons learned with the leaders she works with, and has a special knack for helping leaders and organizations navigate their way through difficult transitions.

Mitch holds a bachelors degree in Business Economics and Accounting from UC Santa Barbara, and a MA in Applied Behavioral Science from Bastyr University. She is currently seeking her Professional Coach Certification through the International Coaching Federation. In her spare time, she trains for triathlons, hikes, cooks, reads and seeks new places to travel! She lives in Seattle with her husband Brad and baby daughter, Addison.

Mitch can be reached at 206-851-0577 or by Email
